The first public area was blackberry fields

Plenty of blackberries, but most of the ripe ones were already bird-food
.

But the real treat was the forest that lines the lake

 

Xylaria hypoxylon - a common wood rotter with compound ascoma and conidia on a single body
.

 

 

 

Wild grapes. I don't think they are currants.
